It is always said that a host gets points and better placing. Is that true? Here's the answer:

So Spain and Israel have always won when they have hosted the show.
Here is the list of the countries which are "good" hosts (at least the jurors have rewarded their
entry that year!). So here is the list of the countries who's average of the placings is better
when they have hosted the ESC than normally.
The worst placing of the host was in 1992 in Malmö, Sweden when Christer Björkman and Imorgon är en annan dag game the 22th! = no extra points to the host!
Or if we are correct: the Dutch entry in 1958 game last (9th) in Hilversum, The Netherlands. The entry was titled Heel de wereld and it was performed by Corrie Brokken.
